Just a quick update on this one.
The battlesuit has been base coated with Vallejo RLM65 light blue. I departed from the red, Mars theme I'd originally envisaged, as the German red-brown primer I put down was looking a bit too dark for my liking. I intend on adding dark grey camouflage over the blue, but we'll see what happens.

After this, a coat of Tamiya 'Yellow Green' was applied to the interior over a layer of Vallejo chipping medium. Once dry, I scrubbed away at the finish with a wet brush to achieve the desired level of chipping. I will add a green wash and pick out the smaller details with a brush, and obviously have quite a bit to go regarding the pilot. More to follow.

Here's a couple of quick update shots. I have now completed the cockpit and added some mottled RLM grey to the upper surfaces (similar to the vibe of a FW190...)
Now for some decals and weathering!

Probably 90% there now...Paint is now chipped, gloss coated, and decals down. Next step weathering/oils/stains, flat coat, and add clear parts/pipes/aerials! The diorama base to follow will be a project in its own right!

All done! :D
I scratch-built a styrene work bench and glued it to a 3D-printed base, barrels and boxes (big thanks to my brother, Jon for printing out and sending me all the pieces!) to represent a grimy workshop/hangar bay scene. The female flight engineer is signing off on the recently completed pre-flight maintenance while the squadron's Alsatian mascot watches on.

All 3D-printed parts were given a surface coat of Tamiya putty to smooth out the coarse resolution, then sanded smooth, painted up and weathered using various Tamiya, Gunze and Vallejo paints and products. The tools and other props were added using Hasegawa's SF3D Figure Set A kit. Aerial mast was made from guitar wire, with flag/rags made from self adhesive foil and painted. Weathering of the suit done with various oil and water based products. All figures and parts were glued to the base with pva and given a couple of coats of Vallejo Model Air matt varnish. I've had a ball building and weathering this diorama, and would love to build more Ma.K kits going forward!

Thanks for viewing.
