Take one Mohawk, one Catalina and some computer software and out pops The Ugly Duckling.
Oceanmaker is a short animation about post apocalyptic Earth that has turned into one giant desert. Pirates roam the skies in junkyard specials harvesting what ever clouds appear for their water. The pilot of the Ugly Duckling has a cloud seeding device on the underside of the plane and is trying to make it rain but the damn pirates keep getting in the way until now.
Kits are a 1/48 Roden Mohawk OV-1B and a 1/48 Revell/Monogram Pro Modeller PBY-5A Catalina.
The Mohawk remains pretty well intact apart from the addition of the Catalina undercarriage, wing mount and wing. The Catalina wing needs to be shortened a fair bit and the engines relocated a fair way to the outboard. The Mohawk's engines have been replaced with a couple of V8's so I'm using some Dodge Charger extractors for the exhausts that are sticking out of the nacelles.
