Thanks David. Excuse my ignorance on the subject of uniforms & equipment, but I am wondering what theatre this uniform was used in? It looks much too hot for the Pacific theatre.

Was it also used in Korea?

The uniformwas mainly issued and worn in Australia during WWII but there are images on the War memorial collections data base of it being worn in Syria and other areas of Nth Africa (6th Div) prior to the soldiers being issued cooler clothing.

Also worn in Japan postwar as part of BCOF. In Korea they were more likely to be wearing the post war British style Battledress or a combination of American style greens and winterwear. But then I have also seen images of members of 3 RAR wearing the uniform in images that are supposed to be in Korea.
