Your favourite Wifs

Postby TOR » Tue Dec 03, 2013 9:45 pm

Now I know this is not everyone's "cuppa tea", but I just love the concept of Wif modelling. It is the one area of modelling where your imagination can truly run wild, the sky is the limit, and no one can tell you that your model is "wrong" . Here are a couple of favourite Wifs from my Qantas collection:

So what's your favourite Wifs????

At the moment, its a Ta 183 which is being modified into a sort of Luft "47" all weather interceptor; one set of guns is gone, big Radar pod on the wing, conformal fuel tank (in the semi-recessed weapons bay), pair of beam riding missiles... Thinking about adding a chaff-box to confuse airborne defensive radar (but this would also have likely affected other friendlies tries to fire missles) and a flare-box to visually blind an opponent for a moment. Its going to be based at some sort of Zulu alert barn in East Prussia, at the very beginning of a sort of Russian/German cold war... :)

Thinking about doing a 'low-viz' type RLM74/75/76 scheme...

Given I run a webforum with a strong Whiffing bent and it is my favourite form of modelling, it is too hard to list just one or two. Here are a smattering of ones I like which may fit in here...I would need years to list all the rest...

I gotta say Greg....we may disagree on occasion, but I do love your Wif work!!!. The Roulette Pig is a most interesting concept, (I myself would love to build a Hawk in the 'Big R" colours), and the A-37 looks just so right!!, that is one bad-arse little Cessna!!!

@Paul,
Mate, you have truly captured the creative and imaganitive Wif spirit. I really like the single-seat Sea Tornado concept, and how effective is that Hawker Harpy camo scheme.....she would have been right at home over the jungles of SEA. Thanks for your contributions.

PS: the Typhoon and TSR2 are pretty dam "kick-arse" as well
